Apartment ponds with Bi-racial Ducks

The trend here, or maybe I just started to pay attention to it, is that apartment complexes plant ducks or geese in their ponds. Depending on the expense of the apartment one may find their apartment pond holds swans and geese. This particular pond belongs to my daughter's apartment complex. They have made a little nature preserve around their pond with cattails and a picnic table. Here you see a white tame farm drake and a brown hen mallard. Probably they are married. Most waterfowl marry for life. I like to see bicultural families-it shows the world is progressing. Or, at least the duck world. At any rate the baby ducks are too sweet, yellow and brown and oh so fuzzy.
