wisconsin farm, green bay

Here's a shot of my son, Matthew, the day I went to help him with chores.  Using the word help is a stretch because I fed the calves and played with the dog and watched him work.  The old barn here is defunct and holds cows that are too young to milk.

Camping

Camping in the middle of a swamp.  Never again will we camp in a swamp. For those of you who think mosquitoes aren't active in 50 degree weather, well, they do. That is the back end of our 1958 Pathfinder camper trailer.  Completely vintage with birch wood layering the interior walls, original appliances and fixtures.

Ramps, Morels, and Aspargus

On our recent camping trip, while scouting for morels (a wildly expensive and hard to find mushroom), we came across a few sprouts of wild aspargus and, after digging up some ramps (a wild and sweet leek) growing on top of a hill, we had a feast!
